Fotoyard is an open society for photographers. Our goal is to provide
a space for our users to exhibit, communicate, inspire and being
inspired.
Please follow the simple steps listed below. You could create your
own photo homepage, discuss photography related issues in Fotoyard's
Forum, find your kind via search, and communicate with other users via
message board and "short note".

1. User Guide:

1.1 Register
Click on "Register" on the left. Follow the instructions to obtain a
user id.
1.2 Build "My Fotoyard"
"My Fotoyard" is where you can manage your personal website. Click
on "My Fotoyard" on the left panel to enter.
1.2.1 Upload your photos, build your own photo repository.
1.2.2 Create, Edit, and Remove your personal photo exhibit. Your
personal photo exhibit will become the center of your photo website.
1.2.3 Input personal information.
1.2.4 Make your personal photo exhibit public in Fotoyard's "Show
Exhibition" area. So the public can view and make comments.
1.2.5 Communicate with other users via message board and short note.

1.3 Fotoyard's Front Page Exhibit and Member of Fotoyard

Fotoyard will periodically select well-regarded exhibits from all
users' personal photo exhibit and publish them on the main page of
Fotoyard.com--"Gallery" and "Member Work" sections. Some of these
selected exhibits might be shown in other venues as well.

Users whose exhibits were chosen this way would automatically become
Members of Fotoyard, who will be granted the privilege to publish
photos to Fotoyard's main Forum, and unlimited space for personal
Website.

1.5 User Agreement
All users must follow the law of People's Republic of China. Please
take care of fotoyard, the home of us all. Please be polite to
everyone here. It's our pleasure to have met you here.

2. FAQ

Q. How do I join Fotoyard?
A. Please click on "register" on the left panel. Follow the
instructions to complete the registration process.

Q. How do I build my photo website?
A. After you have registered. Go to "My Fotoyard".
- Go to "Upload Photo" to upload your photos into your personal
photo repository
- Go back to "My Fotoyard", click on "Edit exhibition",
- fill in the "Title" of your Exhibition,
- drag selected photos into the Edit Function Box from "Photo
Album" on the right.
- Fill in the introduction of your exhibition
- Click "Launch"
- In "My Fotoyard", you may also fill in personal information,
upload your portrait and setup favorite links to other web sites.

Q. Photo uploading didn't work for me! Is there a limit on how many
photos I can upload at once?
A. The size of each photo must be less than 700pixels on each side.
The total file size of each photo can't exceed 200K. You can upload
up to 10 photos each time. Click on "Add" button to upload more
photos.

Q. Can anyone else see photos that I uploaded to my "Photo Album"? Can
I delete them?
A. No. No one will be able to see your photos before you place them
into an exhibition. You can not delete photos from your Album.

Q. When editing my exhibition, how do I line up the photos? change the
order of photos? Anything else I should know when editing my
exhibition?

A. The order of the photo in an exhibition is decided by the order
each photo is dragged into the "Edit Function Box". "First in First
show".

To delete a photo from the exhibition that you are editing, simply
drag it outside the Edit Function Box from the bottom of the Edit
Function box.

To change the order of the photos of an exhibition, you have to drag
all photos out and drag them back inside in the right order.

Note: Please fill in the Title of the Exhibition before clicking
"Launch".

Q. How to modify or delete an existing exhibition?
A. Inside "Edit Exhibition" section, select the exhibition from
"Select Exhibition" section on the top of the page. Edit the selected
exhibition based on instructions above. Remember to click "Launch"
after you have finished modifying and to save your changes.

To delete an existing exhibition, just click on the "Delete" button
after you have selected the exhibition.

Q. My personal links don't seem to work.
A. Make sure you have "http://" in the front of your link.

Q. Are there size requirement for my personal portrait?
A. 105x105 pixel.

Q. How to Launch my exhibition?
A. In "My fotoyard", click "join forum", then you can launch your
exhibition in the "Show exhibition" page.

Q. How to increase my readership?
A. Inform your friends of your website address:
http://www.xxx.fotoyard.com, launch your exhibition on the "show
exhibition" page. Take better photos so your exhibition can qualify
as Fotoyard Exhibition, which will enable your exhibition to be shown
on the front page or in "Gallery", "Member work" page of Fotoyard.
Communicate with other users via Forum and Message board.

Q. How to post photos or essays on the Forum?
A. Although you have to be a Member in order to post photo or start
new discussion thread on the Forum, as a user, you can still
participate in the discussion to make your opinion known. You only
need one exhibition to be chosen to become a member, so work hard! :)
Q. How to become a Member of Fotoyard? What kind of privilege does a
Member have?
A. The only condition for becoming a Fotoyard Member is to have at
least one of your exhibitions being selected as Fotoyard Exhibition.
Once a Member, your user name will be listed and linked on the front
page. The space of your personal website will be unlimited, and your
work could be promoted by Fotoyard in other ways.

Q. How to send a message? Is it safe?
A. Find "Message Box" in the "My fotoyard". In the Address, Type in
the user name of the one whom you want to send message to, Click on
"Send message" to send the message.

The message is private and safe.

3. For Mac User
Fotoyard works on IE for Mac. However, Safari for Mac is not fully
compatible with Fotoyard as of now. We are working hard to solve this
problem. Stay tuned.
